3 Fun Things You can Do with Your Wear OS Smartwatch

As smartwatches are getting popular, Wear OS is getting popular too. It’s the smartwatch operating system by Google, a remarkably improved version of their previous smartwatch operating system, Android Wear, and can even be used with Android phones as well as iPhones. Thanks to Wear OS, you can do several things like listening to music just with your smartwatch even if you’re not carrying your smartphone with you. Here are a few fun things you can do with your Wear OS smartwatch.

Add New Watch Faces

Customization of the watch face is one of the best features of smartwatches. Thus, you don’t have to limit yourself to the same look every day and can impress others with a variety of Wear OS watch faces.

There are certain basic watch faces that show only time. But when you go for the Wear OS watch faces, you can get several pieces of information such as health information like your heart rate and steps you took, and also other information like notes about your appointments, as well as weather information.

To change the watch face, follow these steps:

  • Keep your finger pressed on the watch face until the watch starts vibrating.
  • Then swipe right and left; you’ll be able to see available watch faces.
  • Once you view the watch face of your choice, tap it.
  • If you want to see more options, tap again.

Apart from the faces that come with the smartwatch, you can even download new, exciting ones from Google Play, such as this Flames Watch Face.

What’s more, you can even add more watch faces to the collection. Just follow these steps:

    null
  • Wake the home screen by tapping on your watch.
  • Once the home screen wakes, touch and hold it for two seconds.
  • Once the library of watch faces opens before you, swipe to its far-right side and tap “Add more watch faces”.

There is another option with which you can add more Wear OS watch faces to the library, i.e. with the Wear OS app. Go to the “Watch faces” section of the app and install them manually.

You can even download a third-party app from the Google Play Store on your watch.

Pin Your Favorite Apps

Just like apps for watch faces, you can download many other apps on your Wear OS smartwatch. However, since screen of a smartwatch is quite smaller than that of a phone and thus it’s hard to navigate long lists of the apps you’ve installed. When you use an app, it moves temporarily to the top of the list and it becomes a bit easier for you to access it.

In that case, you can pin the apps you use regularly; this will move the app to the top of the list permanently and you won’t have to keep scrolling through the list to find it. For example, you can pin an app where you’ve found a great Electric Energy Watch Face. Here are steps with which you can pin your favorite app on Wear OS.

  • Open the list by topping the side button or crown button.
  • Locate your favorite app.
  • Keep it tapped.
  • The app will move to the top of the list and a star will appear next to its icon.

You can even unpin an app by tapping its icon and holding your finger in place. This way the app will return to its original position on the list and the star on it will disappear.

Listen to Music Offline

Most smartwatches have built-in speakers though their quality may vary from watch to watch. You can even pair Bluetooth headphones and then use a music app to download songs to your Wear OS device and stream it to the Bluetooth-enabled headphones without an internet connection. Now you can listen to your music without carrying your phone, e.g. on a jog.

Use these tips and have fun with your Wear OS smartwatch!
