WhatsApp has taken the phone world by storm right since its advent. More than a billion people on the planet are using this wonderful app right now, rather they have been addicted to it.

However, if you want to take the true enjoyment of this app, you should learn its inside tips and tricks i.e. some features of WhatsApp application that are not very widely known or used. Here are some of them.

1. Shortcuts to Conversations

You might be chatting with a lot of people. But there are certainly some special people with whom you chat more often. So, why not create a shortcut to conversation with them directly on your home screen, so that you won’t have to open and close WhatsApp every time?

Tap and keep the chat of your choice held on. A tab will pop up. Choose the Add Conversation Shortcut option and your favorite chat will open as your buddy’s profile photo on you mobile screen.

The only drawback here is this feature is available only for Android users and not for iPhone users.

You know how irritating it is when you are eating or busy in something else and an urgent message appears and you’ve to reply it. Here WhatsApp comes to your rescue through compatibility with Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. Thus you can now just dictate any missives to your phone rather than having to use your fingers to tap them.

Just shout out “OK Google” or “Hey Siri”, then utter the name of the contact you want to send the message to and then the message, that’s it!

3. Useful Backup

Concerned about losing some precious messages? You need not. WhatsApp is smart enough to know how valuable your messages are to you and saves them all for you in the cloud.

Android users can go to Settings -> Chats and calls -> Chat backup. This will enable you to set up an automatic Google Drive backup. So, henceforth, when you’ll install WhatsApp on any device from starting, just select Google Drive backup option at the setup screen to get all your messages inserted into your device, directly from the cloud.

iPhone users can back their chat history to iCloud automatically on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. If you want only selected chat histories, click on them, then the user’s name and then email the conversation to yourself.

All in all, you can now make using WhatsApp even more fun with these tips and tricks. So, use them and enjoy!
