Which Smartphone will You Choose – iPhone or Android?

When you decide to buy a smartphone, and 2 major options come before you – Android and iPhone – it’s never easy to choose between the two. Both the phones are loaded with great features, and at times it’s difficult to distinguish one from the other. However, there are some key differences which you can note when you look at them closely. In this regard, you can read this interesting article: Why do iPhone users think they are “too good” for Androids? Here are some of the differences.

1. Hardware

There is a remarkable difference of hardware between Android and iPhone. Apple has kept the control of making iPhone exclusively to itself thus control also on how the hardware and software work together, while Google provides its Android software to several phone manufacturers like Motorola, Samsung, LG, HTC and many more. Therefore you get quite a variety in Android phones in size, looks, features, quality, weight etc.

Therefore it isn’t uncommon that Android phones have issues regarding quality while iPhones, though have had some hardware issues, offer normally a consistently high quality.

2. GPS Navigation

If you have a smartphone and internet connection, you have no fear of getting lost anywhere, thanks to the built-in GPS of both Android and iPhone. Both the platforms offer third-party GPS apps that provide drivers direction turn-by-turn, which are free. Google maps are available on both platforms and the experience is somewhat identical.

3. Battery Life

As Android phones are of variety of types, battery life of Android is more varied. Though early iPhones had battery life issues, it’s no longer the case. Android phones’ battery life becomes complicated because some models using Android OS have 5-inch screens along with many other features that use up much more battery. With that said, some Android phones offer super-high capacity batteries and if you have no problem for having the extra bulk, they work much longer than iPhones on a one-time charge.

If you are looking for a big screen, Android is your choice. Phablets came into existence due to the trend of ultra-big smartphone screens which is a combo of phone and tablet, and the first phablets were introduced by Android and still it continues to offer the widest options, e.g. the 5.7-inch screen of Galaxy Note by Samsung.

Apple too introduced big 5.5-inch screen with its iPhone 6 Plus. Though this trend gives rise to a question about whether big screen makes a great phone, it is certainly popular.

5. 4G Network

4G LTE network is the fastest wireless internet connection and was first introduced by Android. And Android is the place to browse internet blazing-fast since years.

Apple’s 4G LTE started with iPhone 5 and all succeeding models.

Though on these and many other factors, it is not easy to decide between iPhone and Android, you can decide which features you want for yourself and whether they are excellent in an Android phone or iPhone and then choose between the two.
